Hockey

This year, I have really tried to follow Hockey. I've been reading the rumor site (www.HockeyTradeRumors.com), the online magazines (www.theFourthPeriod.com) and the NHL, TSN, and SportsNet sites daily.

Watching hockey you come across some wacky names. No other sport is as European or Russian based, so the last names are often new and exciting. The other day we tried to design a line that'd we'd love the announcers to have to call. Here is what we came up with.

Janne Niinimaa, Joe Nieuwendyk, Scott Niedermayer, Rob Niedermayer, and Teppo Numminen.

Just imagine a good passing play. Ninnimaa to Neidermayer, Neidermayer skates past the line, up to Numminen who dumps it in. Nueidermayer races behind the net and steals the puck. Circles around and throws it out front to Nieuwendyk, who hits the post.

Also their goalie will be Antero Niittymaki

To end, I have a complaint. I don't like the Leafs (or Laffs cause they suck), yet that's all I can watch on TV. It sucks. TSN carries 10 or so Habs games, and CBC some too. But I want more. I want RDS (French TSN). They play all 82 games this year, and all the playoff games. Even the TSN show is called TSN Molson Canadian Leafs Hockey. The Beer than the habs are named after (according to my grade 10 geography teacher) sponsors a show about the Leafs. CBC plays mostly leafs games. TSN does too, and for some reason, we are in Senators country for Sportsnet. Granted that's better than Leafs, but gimme the Tri-Color any day.

Enjoy
